Canada Immigration and Visa Support from Saudi Arabia
Canada attracts more enquiries from professionals in Saudi Arabia than any other destination we cover. It also has the strictest rules about who may advise on it, along with significant recent changes to its study and temporary-resident programmes.
Both of those things shape how we work on Canadian cases, and we would rather set that out at the top of the page than bury it.
Why people in Saudi Arabia consider Canada
Permanent residence routes that do not require an employer. Recognised universities and colleges. Strong professional demand in engineering, healthcare, information technology and finance, all sectors well represented among expatriate professionals in the Kingdom. An established route from temporary status to permanent residence for some applicants.

Route and Who it suits
Study permits: the changes that matter most
Canada's study programme has changed significantly and this is where we see the most outdated advice.
- A national cap has applied to study permit applications since 22 January 2024.
- Most applicants must obtain a Provincial or Territorial Attestation Letter (PAL/TAL) before their application can be accepted for processing. Without it, the application is returned.
- From 1 January 2026, master's and doctoral applicants at public designated learning institutions are exempt from the PAL/TAL requirement.
- Provincial allocations are finite. Once a province has issued its allocation, it stops issuing attestation letters for that period.
What this means for you: applying early in the allocation period matters more than it used to, and the institution and province you choose can determine whether your application can be submitted at all.
Express Entry in practice
Express Entry is a selection system, not an application queue. You create a profile, receive a score under the Comprehensive Ranking System, and wait to be invited to apply. Meeting the minimum eligibility does not mean you will be invited.
Two steps must usually happen before you even enter the pool: an Educational Credential Assessment of your qualifications by a designated organisation, and an approved language test. Both take time, and both expire. Starting them late is the single most common reason a promising profile goes nowhere.
Documents from Saudi Arabia
Canadian applications from applicants based in the Kingdom typically involve:
- Passport and Saudi residence permit (Iqama)
- Employment letters and salary evidence issued in Saudi Arabia, attested where required
- Certified translation of any Arabic-language document
- Educational credentials from your country of education, assessed by a designated organisation
- Police clearance certificates from Saudi Arabia and from each country where you have lived for the qualifying period
- Proof of funds meeting the current published threshold

Questions
Frequently asked
Can Peregrine represent me for a Canadian application?
Only within the model published on this page. Where Canadian law requires a licensed representative, we work with a regulated professional and publish their registration number. We will never claim a registration we do not hold.
What CRS score do I need?
The published minimum and the score actually being invited are different figures, and the second changes with each round. We will show you both against current published data.
How long does Express Entry take?
There is no fixed answer. Credential assessment and language testing take months before the profile is even created, and there is no guaranteed invitation timeline afterwards.
Do I need a job offer?
Not for Express Entry, although a valid offer or a provincial nomination can improve your score considerably.
My degree is from India or Pakistan and I work in Saudi Arabia. Where do I get it assessed?
Assessment is done by a designated organisation, based on where the qualification was issued. The Saudi element is usually your employment evidence, not your education.
